"I really feel the whole process was the most rewarding experience I've had as a parent. It was the most work I've put into anything as a Mom and also the most I've gotten out of anything as a Mom."

Meet Kate

Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant · Early Childhood Educator · Mom of Three · Founder of It Starts With Sleep

Kate Faraci is a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant through the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management. With over 20 years in early childhood education and experience in helping more than 100 families through It Starts With Sleep, Kate brings a unique understanding of child development, family dynamics, and healthy sleep habits.

Before founding It Starts With Sleep, Kate spent two decades in the classroom as an early childhood educator. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade Three) for General and Special Education.

Her years in education shaped the foundation of her approach today: children are individuals, families are unique, and support should always be personalized.

A Foundation Built on Understanding Children

Kate understands that no two children are the same — and no two sleep plans should be either. Every family she works with receives a customized approach designed around their child's needs, their family's lifestyle, and their parenting goals.

After 20 years in the early childhood classroom, Kate's goal is not only to help children learn the skill of independent sleep, but to empower parents with the knowledge and confidence to better understand and support their children. Her background in child development allows her to provide guidance through sleep challenges, toddler behaviors, and the many transitions that come with raising little ones.

How It Starts With Sleep

When a child isn't sleeping, the impact reaches the entire family. Exhaustion can affect your patience, confidence, and ability to enjoy the moments you once looked forward to.

Kate is here to help families create a plan, build consistency, and bring more rest, connection, and confidence back into their homes.

Her promise is to support you every step — and every night — of the way.

Why Sleep Became Her Passion

Kate's journey into sleep consulting began with her own children. Determined to help her first child become a confident sleeper, she dedicated herself to learning about infant and child sleep. After seeing the success of her approach, friends and family began reaching out for support with their own children.

As a former Division I athlete, Kate has always embraced a challenge. But the most rewarding part of this work is witnessing the moment families feel the weight lift — when parents feel confident again and children begin getting the rest they need.

Building It Starts With Sleep has become one of Kate's proudest professional accomplishments, and she hopes to inspire her own children to pursue work they are passionate about one day.

Services

Let's work together to get the whole house back to sleep. You deserve this.

Two Week Sleep Consultation

Investment: $995

begin here

You can be on your way to a full night's sleep in just two weeks with a fully customized sleep plan for your child.

During the initial call you will discuss your child's current sleep habits, and the goals you have for your child. After the call, Kate will develop a step by step plan to set your child up for successful sleeping nights. Lines of communication will be open during these two weeks as you and Kate fine tune any adjustments that need to be made.

This package includes two weeks of unlimited email support, text support, and two 30 minute phone calls (one at the beginning to go over your custom sleep plan, and the other at your discretion).

The customized plan will empower you as a parent as you go forward with a happy, independent sleeper.

Ask Me Anything Call - 45min

Investment: $150

begin here

This call speaks for itself; ask any sleep-related questions you have. This call is typically better for families who have already established consistent sleep habits at home.

For children who are having trouble falling asleep or back to sleep independently, the two week consultation is more appropriate so you and Kate can create a customized plan for all your needs.

In Home Support - 3 In Person Overnight Stays

Investment: $4,995*

Geared for babies 3m-12m
*Available in NY/NJ/CT. Pricing varies based on location.

begin here

Sleep training can be challenging to do alone. With this package, I will be with you - in your home in real time - supporting not only your little one but supporting you too. You can remove the 3am guessing game because I will have the answers ready for you at any time throughout the night.

Similar to the two week package, I will make a custom plan for you built entirely around your baby's needs and your parenting style. Following our plan review call, I come into your home before the bedtime routine begins and stay through until wake time. I help you execute the method and model exactly how to do this every step of the way. Those 3 overnights are the foundation of sleep training being built right in front of you.

Following my 3 nights of in home support, you will have me for an additional 2 weeks of text support. I'm here to monitor progress, answer questions, and make sure you're on a pathway toward independent sleep.

As always, we finish with a 60 minute wrap up call to go over all the amazing progress your little one made, play out any scenarios that may be coming up for your family (think new baby, travel, sickness, etc), and we part ways with a confident baby, and confident parents ready to tackle any sleep speed bumps with all the skills and tools we worked on together.

Once we officially wrap up, you have me for unlimited email support. Questioning when to transition from 2 naps to 1? Transitioning to a bed? Teething and sickness? I'm just an email away.

The More You Know...

  1. Newborns - 12 weeks

    Sleep Shaping -
    The Foundation

It's never too early to start laying the foundation for healthy sleep habits that create the routine that babies secretly crave, and you need. These early mornings, and late nights, may feel like an eternity but will be over before you know it and the house will be back to sleep in just a few weeks. Establishing a schedule from the ACTUAL start will allow you to feel the joy of having a new baby at home, and not just pure exhaustion.

With sleep shaping, you can set a foundation that avoids sleep training methods. Learn how to teach your little one how to fall asleep all on their own and gradually extend those middle of the night stretches of sleep without any methods that feel too harsh for you.

  2. 3 Months - 18 Months

    Sleep Training -
    Babies

The earlier you start, the better! Establishing a healthy sleep routine makes everything in your life more predictable. Babies have multiple ways of communicating before language and by creating a consistent feed and sleep schedule you'll be able to quickly learn what your child may be communicating with you. The clichés are true; it all goes by way too fast.

Getting everyone to sleep will free you up to enjoy watching them change and develop each week.

  3. 18 Months - 7 Years

    Sleep Training -
    Toddlers & School Aged

Toddlers are the smartest humans on the planet; as they navigate newly developed skills they begin to test boundaries as often as possible. By remaining calm and confident, they will soon learn that it's not worth their time playing their little games! Let Kate support you in developing a plan specific to your toddlers and school aged child's needs and get them on a positive sleep trajectory.

There is no such thing as a bad sleeper.

Let's get started... You deserve this.

Still have questions? Here's what other parents ask before we start....

Is it possible to sleep train a newborn or should I wait until they are a certain age?

In my experience with my own children, and a major part of why I chose this sleep consulting path, I feel strongly that your newborn can begin working on longer clips of sleep starting at the two week mark. Once you have your two week doctor visit and get the OK on their weight, let's see what your tiny, yet mighty, little one can do. Following a consistent daytime schedule from day one will enable your baby to work toward extended sleep at night. It may seem counter intuitive, but the more they sleep during the day, the more they sleep at night.

Tired babies don't necessarily sleep longer.

Babies need to eat every 2.5-3 hours. But I always tell my clients with newborns: if you put pizza in front of me every hour, I'd eat it too. If there are no weight issues with your newborn, stretching them to three hours between feeds during the day will set you on the right track to longer stretches of sleep at night. Snuggling is so important (and the best feeling in the whole world!) but consider at least one nap a day where the child is sleeping independently in their bassinet/crib. A proper feeding and nap schedule will give your newborn the chance to work toward stretching their night hours early on.

How can I start working with you?

Reach out! Email, call, text, DM... whatever your preferred form of communication, I'm always available. Set up a free Discovery Call and we can learn more about one another and your little one. Once all information is gathered, you will receive your custom sleep plan and your two weeks of support will begin.

How should I prepare for my initial consultation?

During our initial call, you will learn more about me and see if I'm the right fit for you and your family. Be prepared to tell me about the sleep, or behavior, needs of your child and the goals that you have for them. What does more sleep look like for you? I can't wait to hear about it.

Do you offer remote consultations?

The beauty of this job is that I can connect with families fully remotely. We can connect via Zoom or phone, whatever is most comfortable for you. Being able to help others anywhere is something that brings me great joy! If you are looking for in-home support, that is available in the tri-state area. Pricing may vary.

How do I handle this emotional rollercoaster?

Welcome to parenthood. This rollercoaster is now forever. Know that sleep training can be emotionally challenging, but it is usually short lived. Remember that once your child is sleeping, you are too, and you will get your life back! Children, even as young as newborns, can feel the energy you project. Stay positive and optimistic because I know that is what you want for your child. If it's a rough night of sleep, even during the sleep training process, wake up in the morning with a positive attitude ready for a new day! That night is over and tonight is a new night to conquer. Parenting is the hardest job in the world but also the absolute best. You will always have support from me, even if I'm not in the room with you.

Send those good vibes to your little one and in return, you will feel it for yourself.
